I found some pics of my Christmas jewelry gifts I made this year. I made quite a bit of jewelry pieces for gifts and ended up selling some. (not planning too--a welcome surprise) I tried to keep everything simple and I think it was easier on me and I was able to make more. Giving something I have made, makes me feel so special.. It's like a part of me is now a part of them. Don't know if that makes sense... So enjoy the pics and keep in mind My Camera is not working good these days...

I wish I had some of my necklaces, bracelet and pins that I made. I think I was a bit hurried and frustrated with how my camera was acting up.. It turned out to be very successful this year. I made pins for a few co workers that require expensive earrings due to ear sensitivity and I was able to make a nice winter earring set for my Jewish coworker. They all seemed real happy--which made me happy!

Here a few pics of home decoration and family--Due to no heat until 12 noon on Christmas day.We ended up doing the whole Christmas thing in my apartment building's lounge but I still wanted to show off my tree and few decorations at home..

Busy Bee is not so busy right now...

DJDEB here... I was a busy bee these past few months making loads of Jewelry (at least 20 earring sets, bracelets, necklaces and pins). Also have been taking care of my parents, whom are not in the best of health. My poor mother fell on Christmas day when she was assisting us with moving the Christmas presents. She's not sure what caused the fall, but thankfully did not break anything. She also was fighting a sinus/cold thing and well that's what I am fighting as well... So hence, this former busy bee is sick and not buzzing so much.

God has been doing some exciting things in my life. Singing has always been a desire and interest of mine, it's something I can't do with out. Like breathing and JESUS--can't do without them!! Some of the ladies from a women's bible study I was attending were praying for me and felt I needed to get back into the music ministry. Within a week, I was asked to join my church's worship team and have been singing away!! THANK you Lord! I love to sing and love to sing of my Lord and Savior!

Another thing that I believe God has been blessing me with is interest in my jewelry. I've toyed with the idea of selling it, but never really thought there would be interest. Over the Christmas season, I had a lot of interest and ended up selling a few pieces and could have sold more. (but needed to give most of it away as presents) So we shall see where this blessing will go...

I am so excited to see what God is doing and trust and pray I continue to seek Him and grow in His Love . I was reading a friend's blog
this morning ~God,my family and me blog ~ (check her out), and she quoted Corrie ten boom

"You can never learn that Christ is all you need, until Christ is all you have"

Corrie was imprisoned in a concentration camp with her sister and went through unbearable challenges and yet was always strong in her FAITH in Christ and that faith helped her in her courageous battle with the terrible infirmities that beset her. For her I am sure she felt she only had CHRIST while imprisoned. I think of myself, I have so many good things in my life and I have CHRIST. Lord, help me to learn that all I really need is YOU!

I am loving me some dollar stores and Big Lots. I went shopping last night and came home with a bunch of bargains. (I will try and post some pics later) This particular dollar store has been having numerous types of beads on sale. They also sell some jewelry that I take apart and use the beads. It's kind of weird cause they package the bracelets in bags of threes. It's like getting three for the price of one dollar!! So after leaving there with numerous glass beads, seed beeds and jewelry, I headed over to Big Lots and I got around thirteen swartzki crystal charms for $5 and six Blue Moon Earring loops for $2. WOW!! I love discounts. Now to mix them with some more expensive beads from the bead store and some lovely creations will appear... I SO LOVE A BARGAIN!!

OH and one last thing Winter you can continue to stay to the south of us.. I am not ready yet!!

~~INSPIRATION~~

So I have had quite the jewelry inspiration as of late, many lovely pieces have been created and my house is still a mess... But did I say there have been some lovely inspirational jewelry made!! Here's a few -- and no pictures from the messy house.

I have had this sea glass for awhile and was waiting for some inspiration--I love sea glass!

This is the back end of the necklace. This is the first time I have used different connections (jump rings,wire wrapping, rings and chains) I am so wanting to try and learn more. Variety has been intimidating to me - I am trying to step out of my comfort zone. Perhaps fabric is next.....

A little different view. I like that the seed beads don't distract from my favorite part the sea glass focal.

My co worker's son came down with some serious illnesses and they were coordinating a benefit for him. I decided to donate some jewelry for their auction. Here are some of the pieces I have made for them.

I am from upstate New York and one of my favorite times of the year is Autumn. Leaves changing colors, wonderful smells are in the air

Sea Urchin Necklace --- AMAZING -- a must see

I have been so inspired by all the lovely designs from such a talented "bowl" of ladies soup.

I have been blog hopping and still haven't reached 100 yet. There are over 300 blogs/sites to visit and I plan to visit them all. Sadly my computer will not let me visit some and knocks me off. This saddens me but I keep sampling and the soup I have tasted is delicious!!

There are so many different styles, some I have never seen and some are way beyond my realm of vision. I have always been real streamlined in my designs and tend to be matchy-matchy. My matchy matchiness came out when I took a class on

making bracelets with old buttons. (ok I made up a few words here but dont know how else to describe me)

Why I tried to match all my buttons Phew... tough job!! I say this to say I am challenged with seeing all the asymmetrical designs I have viewed. Designs that are not matchy-matchy or do not have mirrored images on each side of the necklace. Could I do that? Can I step out of my "set designing eyes"? I hope so... Perhaps some day.. Anyone else struggle in this area??

My local bead store owner said these were painted shells.

I was hoping to get a closer picture of their pretty color. I don't tend to string beads as much but wire wrapping these lovely beads--I couldn't do it. Wanted to see them in all their glory!!

I am so not Gothic, but I love these Gothic crosses. I am particular when it comes to crosses and don't like real flashy ones. Perhaps because the cross means more to me than piece of jewelry... I was pleased to see how these turned out and they are inspirational when I wear them.

When I promised a piece of jewelry to a lady from church, I was not overjoyed when she said RED was her color of choice.. Seriously... Well it turned out better than this picture did. and I hope she liked it. I really liked wire wrapping with the thicker wire--especially the way it looks..

The 5th Bead Soup Blog Party site -- Lori Anderson

I am looking forward to entering the 5th Annual Bead Soup blog party. Hopefully I have done it right by posting this link above.... So excited!! I have been reviewing many of the participants in her most recent swap. Basically it's a swap of beads and findings with a fellow jewelry designer that Lori Anderson connects you with. There are few requirements and you get to show off what you have received and what you have created with the beads etc.. that you have been given. It stretches you in your designing and skills and it connects you with so many artists and their blogs. The latest swap had over 300 participants and I have viewed almost 50 blogs and have been loving all the designs!!!

Cant wait for January!!

Well I am home due to my Doctor's orders... I have a pretty bad sinus infection and am on lots of meds... So if I misspell and don't catch--blame it on the sinuses !! It has given me the opportunity to blog hop but no energy to do much else... Soon for this too shall pass...

My first attempt at Chain Maille--it looks gold but it's actually silver. I am so loving this new jewelry style.

This is a copper and black chain maille design I soooo wish this turned out better. Momma really liked this so it now belongs to Momma. I can't say no to that lady :)

I have wanted so long to try and use these tear drop stones and saw a similar design at my local bead studio. Wow those seed beads can be so small!

New way to close them and I love it. To me it's very feminine..

OK so why should I not be here... Because I should be cleaning, writing in my food journal, cutting vegetables, cleaning, I said that one didn't I? Setting all that aside for the time being, I wanted to post some pics showing what I have been up to. My friend Becky and I went on a road trip to a Mark Lowry concert (http://www.marklowry.com/ ) and then visiting my brother and family. On the way back we visited an old schoolmate. I met a man!!

We finally made it to the hotel and rested a bit before heading to the concert. Did I mention we passed our exit and got lost again on the way to the concert? We were traveling in the "boonies" of Western NY. I have to say it was beautiful though..

I found these wind fan things breathtaking and there were at least a hundred of them.

We finally reach our concert. Mark Lowry is a christian singer/comedian and I so enjoyed his concert. His opening act I did not and am not going to post her pictures. I felt the opening act was too "Hollywood" for my taste. Mark has a great blend of comedy and good ole southern gospel charm with a great message. He's kind of cute too eh?

Tending to be a very private person, I do not share a lot of personal struggles with very many people. Other than my Lord and Saviour. (He knows my struggles better than I) I am feeling that I can share this with my blogging family as I know those who read it are of an encouraging spirit and supportive. So what is this thing I was afraid to post.......

I've joined weight watchers well actually been there for a few weeks. Only complaint so far is the cost. I have lost 13 lbs and am excited to be on the road to better health. Strange as it may sound, my main reason for joining is cause it felt like this was the
"one " thing I could have a positive impact in my life. There has been alot of instability and stress this past year and even more so these past few months. To be honest I can not do alot about most of it, other than pray about it. BUT..... getting healthy that I can work on.

So I am still struggling with thyroid problems and tend to have no energy most the time, but am believing that the weight loss has got to help that too... Phew.... I've done it!! I have shared my secret with all my blogging friends and I'm glad. I will try and keep my progress up to date on here. (when my computer allows--tends to knock me off blogspot for some reason).

To close I am reminded of the verse that says " I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME" Let it be so Lord, not just for me but for anyone who is struggling in their life.

Have you ever talked to someone and you could tell they really don't want to talk to you and they certainly don't really care what you are saying? This happened to me today and I was feeling hurt and very belittled. Like I was not worth their attention or not important enough for them to care.

So after my personal pity party, I was reminded of a few things:

1) THERE IS ONE WHO KNOWS MY WORTH AND THAT IN HIS EYES I AM WORTHWHILE !

Matthew 10:29-31 (Message Bible) says:

"^29-31"What's the price of a pet canary? Some loose change, right? And God cares what happens to it even more than you do. He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail—even numbering the hairs on your head! So don't be intimidated by all this bully talk. You're worth more than a million canaries.

We are worth so much to God! He even knows the numbers of the hair on our heads. Wow I am even worth more than a million canaries--hey I'm told in Genesis that I am also created in God's image Sounds like I am worth a lot.

THANK YOU LORD!!

2) THERE IS ONE WHO WANTS TO HEAR MY WORDS AND HELP !

Philippians 4:6-7 (Message bible) says:

^6-7Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

He wants us to call unto him with our thoughts, worries and concerns. He cares so much about them that HE will work everything for the good and I like what they message version says "settle you down" He will settle your heart as no one else can, because He already knows our heart and what we need.

King David in the Psalms is a good example of someone who went to God with all types of prayers. Prayers of thanksgiving, Prayers of Fear, Prayers of Anger and God reached out to him in his prayers. God even called him a man after of my own heart. David showed God who he really was in his prayers. In today's terms, David held nothing back in his prayers. YET GOD said HE IS A MAN AFTER MY OWN HEART. Sounds to me that God appreciates us when we tell him all things.. He LISTENS and CARES for every word we say!!

In closing, if you are hurt, offended by someone or something this world may throw your way; Remember God thinks you are pretty special and He always wants to hear from you!!

So you don't need a sweetheart to make one SWEET bracelet for yourself......

I am starting to use more magnetic closures as I have had requests for it and still struggle with finding strong closings.

I used a lower gauge wire on these and love the definition it brings and it's more secure with heavier beads.

This is a bracelet I made for my friend Teresa with matching ring (see two previous posts for that pic). She loves purple and well it's growing on me..

I made this bracelet originally for a coworker and it was regular stringed-bracelet. She asked for elastic... Not my taste but if she loves it then I do too!!! The colors are SOOOOO ME!!!!

Is anyone "considerate" these days?

Considerate is defined as
Having or marked by regard for the needs or feelings of others. and Characterized by careful thought; deliberate. definition source

Consideration for others seems to be lacking in society these days. Examples of this can be seen when driving in a car or perhaps in a grocery store.

Driving example that occurred this week:

While I was at a red light, I was in the lane that could turn right, so I looked to my left to see if any car was coming and what does the car to my left (that cannot move till it's green) do??? they pull up even more and of course it's a BIG car!!!

Grocery Store example:
Ever been in a line with a few items and someone in front of you has 20 items!?!?

What ever happened to "DO unto others as you would have them do unto you!"

By being "Considerate" It will show your True character. True Character defined is in how you treat others.

So think of others above yourself and they will be shocked and blessed at the same time. Shocked because it could be the only nice thing that happened to them that day and blessed because you made them feel important by your kind, thoughtful and considerate word and/or actions.

I promise not to do the whole blog post in that NEON, LIME color!! My check it outs are related to twitter ( Check out TWITTER here ) and are all about New England and people of similar interests. You are probably asking, Where in the world is she going with this?

Finding friends and/or family to join me in this crazy, time consuming, addictive world of twitter has been difficult. I have become resigned to the fact that just like my wonderful Blog world, twitter world is meant to be a haven of new friends, inspirations and views. I am really loving it and am finding it somewhat addictive. Yes, at times I have been known to twitter away a lot of my time.

New England is always a place dear to my heart and I love visiting my New England bloggers and have connected with many NE Twitterers!!!

Cape Ann Guy Find Cape Ann Guy here is a self described "Weather Geek" that tweets out of Gloucester Mass. I have learned so much from his weather posts and have linked up with many other NE sights. He actually has been know to answer this "pesky wanna be weather geek"

Alert New England Twitter link to AlertNewEngland is another favorite twitter sight I love. It reminds me of a scanner thats in print on the net. OK so please tell me y'all know what a scanner is?? It's a police/radio/fire radio type broadcaster of events that are affecting a certain area. (bad definition my techie brother would be so ashamed)

Anyways Alert New England posts all kinds of happening throughout New England. It's been exciting to call my mother (who grew up all over New England) about the happenings in her old stomping grounds.

Little Bead Shop Link to Little Bead Shop is a bead shop in Scotland that shares all their happenings. It's exciting to here about all their little girl jewelry parties to their celebration of hogmany. They also have tweeted and connected with me numerous times!

There are many beaders/jewelry makers on Twitter and I do follow a few. Many use twitter as a vehicle to sell their designs. Great idea eh?! I tend to use the twitter filters for some of these posts as it takes up a lot of room when viewing other posts. I have not included any of them here as there are so many to view.

Inspirational twitters are in abundance on twitter. Finding some of my favoriter christian artists like Kari Jobe, Jesus Culture, Mark Lowry and Candace Cameron Bure is just naming a few.

So on to the the self promotion--Not necessarily promoting but showing of some of my designs.

I twittered recently my regret in not taking pictures of the jewelry I made for Christmas. I made over a dozen wire-wrapped rings, some bracelets and at least 8 pairs of earrings. Christmas came so quickly that I feel like I made and gave. Lack of energy has also played in my not getting pictures taken. BUT.... I can show a few things I have made in the past months and some were actually Christmas gifts.

These bracelet/earrings sets above, I have made at least three of. I love the fact it was the first time I wire-wrapped on top of a bead. I gave a set of these to a friend for Christmas.

This was prior to my wire wrapping days. But I love them none the less especially the earrings.

My mother gave me a few bags full of these rosy, pearl beads and I have been so surprised at what I can make with them. Never look a gift horse in the mouth is a proven statement in regards to the beads that have been given me.

Soon I will hope to be posting some of my wire wrapped rings......

Sick, but dont count me out!

I have officially been home veggin' (sorry for such a juvenile word but it so fits) for three days. Calling in sick this morning and not leaving the house for two days, is an attempt to get over whatever I have and just plain REST! Called my Doctor this morning only to find that he is out of the office for the day. To be honest I was hoping he would just call in scripts and I would not have to go out in this snowy mess! We shall see what and when he responds with.. My guess: Prednisone for chest congestion and a second antibiotic and probably an inhaler (which I have struggled with in the past). My way of dealing with sickness is to stay home and rest and use the wisdom of Physicians whenever possible. Trying to not freak out, worry or get depressed.....

Not everyone reacts to sickness or perhaps I should be more specific "my" sickness the same. My parents for example; both love me dearly and react in different ways. My father tends to be more easier for me to accept as it's not condemning or finding fault, it's just "GO TO THE HOSPITAL!" He called my sister, the nurse who has not called me in around a week (not worried about my sickness) to try and get me to go to the hospital last night. As I mentioned above, I am not above going to doctors for help, but definitely was not at the point of needing to "GO TO THE HOSPITAL" But I know that advice was coming from a concerned and loving heart and I can see that and understand it.

My mother's reaction is also from a concerned and loving heart too and perhaps I should add a worrying heart. Her reaction is to point out what is wrong in my life that is causing this sickness. Some of her points are valid but they can come across in a very condemning way. In her views I am just not listening to what is the source of the problem. I am listening!! To be honest mom,I listen to yours words the most and that is why they tend to be more hurtful. Also because you and I have that special bond of love and they say the ones you love the most can hurt you the most. I am not meaning to rag on my mother, but to say I am trying to see it from her side of it , which is that she really is trying to help. My prayer is that my response will be respectful and appreciative, but not always having to agree. A delicate balance indeed....

LORD, Give me wisdom in learning how to treat others as You would and healing of this illness and strength to overcome the obstacles that tend to beset us.. AMEN

Better late than never eh?! I have been having difficulty with getting into blogs. Seems like when I click on my own and sometimes other blogs I keep getting knocked off.

Any other bloggers have this problem? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Sickness is still in the house as I am still sick even after a dose of antibiotics, but thankfully I have been able to work through it Yesterday, however I ended up coming home early from work. I had to travel home in a snow storm, the snow was coming down heavy and the roads/sidewalks were very slick. I truly hate this kind of snow (due to my fear of falling), but am grateful it is not ice. Prayers for those in the south that are going to be hit by the ice storm are being sent as I type this. Please be careful and use caution when travelling, better yet stay inside and have a cup of cocoa!!

This has become a rambling post.... that will not go on and on I promise !! I just wanted to post and will hopefully be more inspirational/entertaining in my next post !! God bless y'all !!

But I still will be celebrating the CHRIST in Christmas all through the next year and many more...

It certainly was not the best week for me.. sickness, busyness and lots of work.... But I really tried to keep perspective of the holiday and not let things get me down. Did pretty good and now I am in the day after slump... resting, resting and oh attempting to make soup with the ham bone... We shall see what comes of that. :)

4 days till the big 40!! and the funny thing is I am so tired out lately and emotional. I swear I cannot watch a TV show these days without crying.. Even some stupid reality show I really don't care a whole lot for--down go the tears. Hmmm... what's up with that?!

I think the hardest part of turning 40 is I am still single. Not that I am that chasing, never happy till I am in a relationship type girl, but I yearn for it every so often. Perhaps I will find him in the next 10 years eh?!? I joke to my friends that the only ones attracted to me are dogs(I mean the animal), kids, old men or guys that really need a momma. I am praying that if God wills it for my life, that I will be ready to recognize His plan when the time comes.

Enough about me. Christmas is coming---So much to do!!! Gifts to make, Gifts to buy, house to clean, tree to put up.. yikes!! oh well... Tis the season to be Jolly and to be grateful for the greatest gift of all JESUS!!!

Till I am 40 years old!!! Say it ain't so !!!

Yes, I will be 40yrs old on November 18th and I am giving myself a birthday celebration. First I am taking the day of and the day after my birthday off. Partly because I am hoping the girls don't do the black balloon diaper thing for my birthday! I have booked a local hotel room and my mom and sister and I are gonna have a girls night. Swimming, hot tub and good food!! No dieting allowed :) I am even thinking of buying my own cake.

Being the one in the family to host/plan all the gatherings/parties, well if I don't do my own no one will :) To be honest I figure if I keep busy it will not be a depressing day... WE SHALL SEE... will keep you posted.

What a beautiful season fall is.... Just wish that that terrible, freezing, cold and blustery season did not follow it.. Oh well Let's enjoy these wonderful comfortable temperatures and all the vibrant, eye catching colors before they are gone.

These are pictures I took at a local park. It is beside a river that goes through our county and numerous neighbouring counties.

I love the variety of trees, water, leaves and the fact it looks like I am looking in at the scene. (if that makes any sense to anyone other than I)

MOM and I Call this our Zacheaus Tree--based on the biblical story of a man named Zacheaus that wanted to see JESUS but could not do to the crowds so he climbed a tree (sycamore) to see JESUS and JESUS saw him and invited to come down and meet with Him. This is how I picture the tree that Zacheaus was in.. Yes I have a wild imagination.

I am hoping you enjoyed all the "FALL BEAUTY"!! I am sure I will have more to follow.....

Just visited a new blog for the first time and the words "Because He lives" were posted there. Reminded me of an old song I grew up listening too. I believe Andre Crouch used to sing it.

Because Jesus Christ lives in me , I can make it through these tough times that come our way. He is my strength, peace and comfort in the trials I go through. I have been away from my blog for a few months, due to family illness. My mother was in the hospital with a high fever for three weeks. To this day we still do not know what caused it, but we are grateful that the fever has subsided. A week or so later my sister had to have surgery to remove a tumor in her neck. We felt that it was over with and then found out a week later it was thyroid cancer. She has since had another surgery to remove her thyroid and lymph nodes and has under gone outpatient and inpatient radiation. It looks like they have gotten everything and I am holding on that we can get through it all with God's strength and healing hand. For Because He lives I can face tommorrow!! God bless, Deb

My first point of interest is a my new "reality show" addiction called AMERICAN PICKERS on the History Channel. Their website below:

The show is based on Mike and Frank (above) who travel throughout rural America looking for good PICKS. Yes, they are looking for a bargain and try to make money on their purchases. (some say they take advantage of people) I don't really see that as the majority of the people they pick from are collectors and/or pickers themselves. Mike and Frank take their purchases and try and sell them to collectors of those specific items. Of course to make a profit. At the end of each episode it shows the purchases and the profit or potential profit. If you like a bargain and appreciate antiques, you will LOVE THIS SHOW...

I am so glad that Friday finally arrived!! It's been a long work week that found me bogged down with work and a desk that never seemed to be cleared of paperwork. I am striving to never leave my desk at work a mess when I leave for the day. Partly cause I think it leaves a good impression of the type of worker you are and it's nice to come into work the next day with a clean desk. (also have a boss that has been known to clean up your desk at any moment and I am so not wanting that to happen)

~~OK THIS IS NOT ME, BUT I CAN SO RELATE~~

Bright and Early tomorrow morning I will be taking another jewelry class. Wow I am sacrificing my SSI day for Jewelry classes!??!

SSI means SATURDAY SLEEP IN!!

The older I get the less sleeping is done, but I love getting up and staying in my PJs and making a pot of coffee, eggs and bacon.. Oh Retirement come SOON!!!

This has turned in to a rambling post.. I will try and post some of my latest pictures at some point in the near future. I may bring my camera to class and see if they will let me take pictures. Until the next time....

MOMMA'S HOME-- PTL!

Momma is home !! Thanks for all your prayers... She has been home for almost a week Praise the Lord. They have no idea why she was having such a high fever and for so long. (2 weeks) Finally the fever broke and they were able to release her. She seems to be feeling better but tires out very easily. My father who was very lost without her is back to his old self. I guess half of him was missing...

My sister and I took them on the first family picnic in ages and she stayed for a long time. Mom outlasted Poppa (we took him home early--but that's normal for Dad) and stayed till evening. It was such a beautiful day and good to have her home. Above is a pic of mom and I at a park a few years back. It's one of my favorites--love the picture and love my MOM!!

While mom was in the hospital, we celebrated my sister's birthday at the hospital. I had made her the lovely bracelet/earring set below. I could not wait to show her. My sister also makes jewelry and we had talked about making some using the brackets I used in her bracelet. It was a tougher one to make but I think one of the best ones I have made so far.

We are thinking of going into business selling our jewelry. We will each have our own business but are going to have sister jewelry parties. So having said that I will probably be posting more on my jewelry escapades... I will take any advice on this so PLEASE share away!!!

So good news all around... Now if I could find my prince..

Prayer Request

Just wanted to post a prayer request for my mother. Mom (Miriam) has been in the hospital for almost two weeks now (one of the main reasons I have been MIA from my blog). She went in to the hospital running a fever and it has stuck with her. They have done numerous tests and still no definitive reason for the fever. She was hoping they might send her home tonight, but they did not and she ran yet another fever this evening. Thanks in advance for your prayers. God bless, Deb

OK, so I strive to not have two posts in a row that are about the same topic BUT....... I must do it! Taking beading/Jewelry classes have been a new interest of mine. I have been making jewelry on my own for over a year but now I am learning the right way to do it and new techniques. So here goes, some of my new creations.......

I made this one for my momma and I am going to duplicate it and make me one!!

These earrings are your standard earrings and were the first pair I made in class. To me the bottom bead looks like a shell... or perhaps it's these "nautical" eyes of mine.

My sister found this adorable starfish charm and well I had to make another. They were teaching us how to make earrings that have more extensions to them!!More dangly (my new word of the day)!

I stepped out of my comfort zone and made something that wasn't blue.. but it's an aquatic color to me...

I revamped an old bracelet and redid it the proper way below... I LOVED this one even though I am not a pink fanatic... Well Mom liked it to and well it looks good on her now..

Below is my first attempt at a little girl's bracelet. Made this for my niece who LOVES pink!! Going to work on some earrings to match..

I am so proud of my newest creations....

OK so I am not the best picture taker, but I hope I am getting better at jewelry making.

A coworker was retiring and mentioned she liked cobalt blue. Well the beads are not quite that color but I like that the big round beads (have not learned all the names of the beads--yes they have names) have reflective coat that take on colors around them.

On her last few days, she was showing off her earrings which made me feel so special. I love making things for people and enjoy it even more when I see them wear them.

That about sums it up for me today... I love my "Lazy" Saturdays--but need to take advantage of the time off and get caught up. Justifying my times of vegging (relaxing--my mom does not get that vegging term); by reminding myself of the crazy work week or not feeling well does not get the place cleaned or laundry done.

Just wondering if I am the only one in this place... Well I am going to try and do some things instead of vegging my day away. Just talking about it makes me feel accomplished----Well it was a thought....

Last "Check it out" is more of a personal thing. After making close to 20 bracelets and around 10 earring sets, I have officially taken my first beading class. I wanted to take pictures in class, but since I did not know anyone (other than my sister) I held back. perhaps next time!?!?

It was very intimidating at first as I have never done such detailed work. We worked with seed beads and thread through a needle. Very delicate design and work. Here is a picture of the seed beads needed for the project.

My teacher stated that I chose some of the most difficult colors to work with but it will be beautiful. Leave it to me to start off the hard way, but I know what I like and well.......

Here are two close up pics of my unfinished bangle bracelet. Even incomplete it's pretty!!

I think the colors are kind of regal looking, but I am a bit partial I suppose. I mentioned this in class and added it reminded me of Princess Diana's Jewelry. Remember her famous wedding ring.. OK it's not that good... but I like it.

My first thought was "WE are FAMILY" Meaning we are part of God's family. Just as we are a part of our own family. Our parents gave us life and because of that we are able to be alive. But even more amazing we are God's family and because of that we are ABLE to LIVE, ABLE to MOVE and WE EXIST!! Thank you Lord!!

But as with any family, there are those unwritten rules of being apart of that family. We are representatives of our parents, grandparents and all those who have gone before us. Have you ever had your parents say to you "Please don't embarrass me!"? For whether we like it or not, we are always going to be a representative of your family.

Some families have high and lofty images for their children to fulfill and represent. Other families have high expectations of academia or sporting abilities from their children. Christian families want their children to be a reflection of Christ in all they do and say.

I think most importantly, We should be concerned about our representing God in all do, say and live accordingly. Does our words sound like a child of God? How about our actions, are they like a son or daughter of God? For we are God's offspring and those around us should be able to see our HERITAGE belongs to our Heavenly Father!

Let Freedom Ring

I wanted to publish a post regarding the recognition of Memorial Day and was unsure of what to write. Seems like I have been reading and hearing a lot about how the military present and past have fought for our FREEDOM in America and continue to faithfully serve to keep that FREEDOM for us.

A heart felt thanks to those who have served and are currently serving in our military for their service and sacrifice. May God bless you and May God bless America!!

Another thought occurred to me as I was thinking of this post. Not only am I blessed to have this Freedom ensured to me by the military. But I am doubly blessed to have the Freedom that comes from my relationship with Jesus Christ.

Below I have posted a video of the Gaither Vocal Band performing at the White House under President Bush's administration. The song is called "Let Freedom Ring" and the lyrics below explains the freedom that salvation through Christ provides.

If y'all read my old posts, you would see I am not a fan of winter. Well I am not enjoying this humid almost 90 degree weather in Spring.. Boy I am never happy..

Was thinking of putting my air conditioner, but believe the temps are going down a bit. Boy mother nature is acting up these days!!

I cannot believe what I said to one my supervisors today. I blame it all on my blogging obsession with all things nautical. She walked in my office with a navy blue cardigan with thin white stripes and I said, "oh you look very NAUTICAL today". It just came out of my mouth.

Needless to say, she took it well as she is retiring and heading to the Outer Banks this summer.

I am doing something else that I never do tomorrow. My sister and I are making an evening trip to the mall to the Yankee Candle store.I will be spending more there than I have ever spent. These purchases will allow me to pay even more for their special nautical bag (pictured below).

If you have not guessed it, I am the one who has gone to the birds. (not a big dog fan) I have mentioned my love of seagulls and will post some of my most recent pics of my LOST seagulls (no sea in my neck of the woods) Here are some pictures of ducks at one of our local lakes in New York. I have never seen so many and so friendly. The picture above I felt a tad bit threatened by this one. I think he knew I had no bread or food for him on me, just this crazy clicking thing.

Always try and feed the hurt bird the most. The picture above shows a bird with bread in it's mouth. This particular bird had a broken wing and just broke my heart. Glad my mother was able to throw the bread to the wounded one.

OK so I need to do a rambling post....

RAMBLING 1:

I am home on a Friday night, when I actually had plans... BUMMER. Been fighting a stomach bug for a week or so, but the last 24 hrs. it has gotten worse. Lord willing I will feel better for my big plans tomorrow....

Update on Rambling #1: unexpected but welcome company stopped by.. and distracted me from my stomach woes. Thanks Robin and I hope to see ya soon in the blogging world!!!

RAMBLING 2:

Those plans include my sister and I taking our Momma out for a Mom and daughters day out. We are taking her for dinner and shopping. She has been wanting a good foam pillow and I have struggled to find the right kind for her. I do believe Bed, Bath and Beyond has what she has been so wanting ( and I want one too). It's called latex foam pillow.

Update on Rambling 2: I am finishing this post on Sunday as I ended up spending the day with mom and my sister (see my lovely momma and I below). Thankfully my stomach pains held out till I got home last night and I was able to enjoy a nice day of shopping and fellowship. AND AFTER YEARS OF SEARCHING-- We found the right pillow and purchased three!

RAMBLING 3:

Was unsure if I was or should post this rambling... Primarily because I don't have children and wonder if some may feel I am not qualified to share. BUT I must... I have been watching and listening to all the news/television shows regarding the eating habits and obesity levels of today's children.

First, I agree it's a need and we should be concerned and do our best to change for the health of the children. I grew up in a low income family, primarily due to the fact my parents wanted my Mother to remain home for the children. We were blessed to have had her there and should I ever have children I too would love to be able to do that. Having said that, we made sacrifices to have her stay at home. One was that we always rented our residency and the other was our food choices.

We did not purchase food based on the "HEALTH" content but more on how it could be spread out and price. We also used food from Food pantries and government give outs. I am not ashamed of that as it afforded us something many of my classmates never had. That was a mom to come home to if you were sick and never having to be left alone or with strangers/babysitters.

So my only thoughts are that it is expensive to eat completely healthy foods. I have been working hard recently to eat more healthier foods and my grocery bill has sky rocketed. Fresh veggies, fruits, fiber enriched, lower sodium and lower fat content products are expensive!! But being that I am single and buying for me it's an expense I feel is needed, If I had a family.....

I have heard there is people wanting to tax soda and take away toys from Happy meals. Soda yes is bad for ya, taxing it?? well I think is not going to help the issue.. and come on Taking toys from a meal consisting of a hamburger/apple pieces (or fries) and a drink (does not have to be soda). Happy meals are a reasonably priced meal as a treat and is one of the few places most parents can afford.

So what are my ideas and thoughts: LETS FOCUS on reducing the costs of "healthy' foods and work on school lunches . For perhaps with education on what is healthy and what is not and having affordable food for families to buy ; maybe then we can begin to change the health of children.

ANYWAYS it's just a thought......

"neglectful blogger hangs head in shame"

That would be me the neglectful blogger.... But I'm back. I am slowly starting to have more energy which is getting me out and about more. Last week my sister and I,

My sister Sharon and I after church on Sunday--in our Sunday best !!

went to visit my brother Dave and his family. It was a great time of fun, fellowship and shopping. I will post about some of the fellowship and fun and will do a special post on my shopping later

(Iwill have to take some pics of my prize purchases first).

We were able to spend some time with their family both at the their place and later one evening they joined us at our hotel's pool and hot tub (NO PICS here though). Here is a picture of my nephew Jeremy and their dog "breezy" I believe the kids named him. Makes me recall a rabbit they once had that was named Freedom by Jeremy. He was and is always into America and politics. Love ya Jeremy my "politically savvy" nephew!!

My brother Dave had to work most of the time we were there, but we were able to spend the evenings and Sunday church time with him. We have a lot in common and I so enjoy getting a chance to visit with him and discuss music and our Faith (some of common interests). I will post some pictures of my sister in law and my niece later. My sister in law is not one to let us take many pics of her, but I think I at least have one of her. Since she was our shopping tour guide, I will post it when I post my shopping blog. My neice who LOVES her picture taken went with us and I will post some

of her then too. I wanted to talk about my sister in law Barb's home decorating skills. She is very talented and could go into the business. We joke with her and about whether her designs are country, primitive or rustic?! In actuality I truly covet her style and hope that some day my place can have that "decorator's touch" that her place exudes. Of course, I would rather it be more nautical inspired. God is still on the throne!! despite....

Have you ever heard that term before "God is still on the throne"? I know what it means or I believe I do. To me it means that despite the circumstances, troubles, trials and problems around me; God is above it and sees your struggles. HE will never leave you.... He's not saying that He will take away all that is stressing you, but HE will never leave you!! AMEN....

I say all that to say I am sick once again.. Cannot seem to kick this cold/bronchitis/sinus/yucky whatever it thing!! Having spent most of the weekends home since before Christmas, due to no energy (thyroid issues) and the above named sickness. I can totally see how one could get depressed and down and out. Now I am not at all saying I have not been discouraged.... I have but are you ready for this "GOD IS STILL ON THE THRONE!!" despite all that I may currently be going through.. there is hope so I don't need be hopeless....

How I wish I could share this with people that are so without hope and desperate for help.. they give up for they feel as if all the people and things around them give them nothing concrete to hold on to.. They need to know that there is hope, strength and peace to get us through our circumstances and one that will never leave us...

I would like to think I am patient.. tend to get a little mopey but that's not an option here..

2. When you find out that school is canceled (due to inclement weather) what is your gut reaction?

Not Fair, why cant WORK be cancelled!!

3. What is one domestic skill you wish you could improve?

CLEANING!!!

4. Do you decorate your home for Valentine's Day?

Sometimes my front door... but no energy to do it this year bah humbug.. Wait wrong holiday !?!

5. What song is on your mind today?

It's a chorus that goes (((He who began a good work in you, He who began a good work in you.. Is faithful to complete it. Faithful to complete it. He who started the work will be faithful to complete it in you.)) It based on the scripture that states the same thing that GOD will finish what He has begun in our lives.

6. Do you prefer contemporary movies or classic?

Probably the classics or the older movies where chivalry, romance, and morality were more prevalent.

7. How well do you "compartmentalize" your feelings?

For example, how well can you put aside a really trying moment to deal with the immediate situation which is not related to the trying moment, e.g., putting aside a tiff with your spouse in order to finish wallpapering a room.

Well I am not married so I can easily let my feelings out when home, but I tend to keep them in most the time. I hate when I share them and then someone uses them to make hurtful comments or remarks.. I think it could be a pride thing too.. Don't want to reveal to much..

8. What is the first thing that attracted you to your spouse? (Or if you're single, to your best friend.)

I am single still so it will have to be my best friend. She was the first one to follow through and teach this old lady (29 at the time) to drive. The fact we both love southern gospel music , coffee, fireworks, nature, photography and JESUS is what keeps us friends still.

9. When was the last time your heart raced?

Lately all the time.. Out of breath..

10. What are your memories of Valentine's Day at school?

Not so much at school, but LOVED picking which valentine to give to who...

11. If you were going to receive candy for Valentine's Day, which would you prefer?

I am starting a new blog series called "CHECK IT OUT". I plan on sharing something or someone interesting that has crossed my path recently. So make sure you CHECK IT OUT!!

As many of you recall in previous posts, I am a huge watcher(do not like the word fan) of the Duggars from 18 and counting a show on TLC.

I love the quote that ended the article "Josh said that he believes he and John were there to help. "I don't believe in coincidences," Josh said. "I think we were in the right place at the right time because God has a plan for Maddye's life. I'm glad we were there."

What a powerful testimony for the Lord this family has become. I so pray they will keep walking the faith and continue to do so. So many before them in reality television and in many areas of entertainment are drawn away from what matters in life by those things we are told that "EASILY BESET US". Keep keeping on for JESUS Duggars and being good Christian examples to those who are watching your show and your lives.

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. PSALMS 18:2 kjv

Lately I catch myself praying short prayers of "Lord, give me strength". Over and over I am seeking him for strength.. Never would I have imagined that I would feel so tired, worn out and lethargic. That has described my last few months. I have been sick with bronchitis and some other cold symptoms, but I believe behind it all is my thyroid acting up. Tomorrow I am going to get some blood work and am praying that it will give the level that is needed for an increase in my medicine.

If you have ever heard of anyone with thyroid problems, I am sure you have heard their struggles with their levels. As I am sure I have mentioned before I was hyperthyroid to begin with and ended up having radiation to kill most of the thyroid. The dying of the thyroid takes years to occur (something I learned recently--even though the radiation occurred years back) and the regulating your thyroid levels will always be a part of my life. So I have said all this to say that I have sooooooo needed "strength" and the only place I can seek it is in Christ. He has gotten me through the workdays and I have rested most weekends.

I feel as if many do not understand and see me tired out primarily because of my weight. My weight is a big hindrance and some of it is a result of hypothyroidism. So I am going to continue to seek God for the strength and pursue the doctor to use the medical support there is available for me.

The other night I was suffering a migraine and was trying to rest and all I could sing was this song.

I kept singing I believe your my healer, I believe your more than enough for me.... JESUS you're all I need!!! Lord, I'm holding tight to your promise of strength in your word and will sing in my heart this song to you My Healer!

Sunday Samplings

~~SUNDAY SAMPLINGS~~

Today was the first Sunday in at least a month or so that I had made it to church. Between being sick and terrible weather, I had not been able to attend. So my day started in the house of God, with my fellow believers. Then I met my parents and sister at a Chinese buffet for lunch.... here's a picture of my momma eating what she calls her "ENGLISH FOOD"

It was so nice to have dinner with the family and get to have some sushi!! yummo!

Mom and I went out and about shopping and picture taking. It was one of the warmest days so far this winter. Not very sunny, but it gave me an excuse to break my new camera in some more. Of course there are pictures of my babies........

OK, it's a joke that these are my babies. I have no children and get such joy from seeing and feeding them. For us in New York, seagulls are a reminder of the ocean and New England.

I still cannot believe my new camera allowed me to catch the bird in wing movement. how exciting!!

And lastly for my Sunday samplings.. We went and took pics of some of our local creeks and rivers. We have a flood warning currently though these pics are not reflective of that. The waters should get higher by tomorrow night. Enjoy the winter pics....

my new addiction

I have always had a fascination with all things dealing with the sea. Perhaps it started when I spent many summers in Salem, Massachusetts with my grandparents. Hanging at the beach and then when I was older going on many whale watches and harbor cruises.

Here is the boat my sister, nephew and I took out of Gloucester on the "Perfect Storm" Ride. Yes that is how they advertised it. :)

And there is my love for lighthouses... I believe this came about from my faith as I have grown up hearing the phrase that Jesus is my Lighthouse. As I have grown older, I know this is true and the beacons of light hold a more special place to my heart.

I have said this to say...... My new addiction is all the wonderful nautical, beach and ocean blogs out there in blog world. It's a whole new world I never knew existed. Here are a few of my favorites.

First I will preface my post with what Monday Manna is all about. This is from Joanne's blog :

This scripture always bring me back to a story that occurred while I was attending a christian school. I believe I was in Jr. High at that point this occurred. One day the teacher asked me to befriend a new student that did not really "fit" in. This was common for me as I have always had a compassion for the underdog or those who just did not "fit" in. I don't remember all the details of what happened but I can recall telling my fellow students that when you make fun of them you are making fun of God. Here's my back up of that :
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
We are God's creation.. Not only created by Him but in HIM. He is in us.. We are made to look and reflect His image. Even though we were in a christian school, I am sure some thought oh there goes Debbie preaching again. (I was not always preaching, but would become a defender if needed)
So even us Christians need to be reminded of this.. I know that I do daily. For everything we say and do is a reflection of the one we claim to love and serve with all our heart. Luke 6:45 (NLT) says,
A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.
SO WHO DO PEOPLE SEE WHEN THEY LOOK AT YOU? DON'T YOU THINK IT SHOULD BE THE ONE YOU WERE CREATED TO REFLECT?

Boy that title sounds pathetic.. Well being sick and home once again for another long weekend.. I probably am a little pathetic. Enough about me and my ills, I really have a blog question. :)

I have admired so many of my fellow bloggers who share scriptures and quotes and have them in these nice little boxed formats. I have asked some and still can not figure it out. I have found scripture tags (not sure if it's the correct word), but they do not always go along with that exact scripture I am feeling the need to post. I would appreciate any and all thoughts/suggestions.

DJDEB attempts to make jewelry..

I am going to post some pictures from my first few attempts at Jewelry making. (So please take that in mind when you view them) I had decided to make all my girls at work bracelets for Christmas and in the process learned how to make earrings. For Christmas I got a wonderful new camera (thanks sister) and wish I had it in time to take these pics as it has a wonderful zoom.. so here goes my first few attempts.

I asked my co workers their favorite colors and this one was based on the color green. Not my favorite color, but loved it paired with black and gold.

Ok I had two coworkers that liked pink. My boss liked hot pink---later denied and I just struggled with finding beads that I liked that were pink. My boss' bracelet is the last one. But surprisingly they turned out to be some of my favorites. Oh the joy of beading ....

I was watching a reality show today.. yes I admit to watching them.. Primarily the survivor/adventure ones; but have been drawn to this particular one. The show is dealing with celebrities that have become addicted or are abusing alcohol and/or drugs. It was their first day at the rehab and the cameras are recording their stories. Each one has their reasons for why they are there and their opinions on whether they are needing treatment or not.

One female kept stating that she was "LONELY" and the doctor overseeing the treatment facility seemed to be concerned with her loneliness. She has had money, fame and notoriety and prison time. She now lives alone with her addiction and animals in the desert. She comes off very sad and pitiful to say the least.

Every time I see a celebrity that has died from an overdose or is so lost in addiction as the "lonely" lady above. I am reminded that all the money, fame and prestige in the world can not bring you happiness and what I truly believe we all seek is PEACE.

The Peace that passes all understanding and brings you eternal hope. The peace that gives you strength to make it through difficult things that can come against you. The peace that gives you contentment in who you are. Lastly, the Peace that replaces the loneliness with the knowledge that you will never be alone again.

Jesus is that peace and I am thankful every day for his presence in my life. Now my life is not perfect and without trials and troubles. But despite all that I am going through, I have someone who cares and knows my heart's cry. For He is the friend that is closer than a brother, He is that friend that never leaves, He is that friend that will never betray, or forsake you.

These troubled stars have felt abused and taken advantage of time after time. With Christ, he asks so little of us for all that He offers to us. He asks for us to commit to serving Him, with all our heart and strength. However weak either are... He accepts us just as we are.. And we shall never be alone again.

Dear Lord, I come before you for all those who are seeking for fulfillment in so many addictive and self punishing ways. I ask that they would call out to you and I know that You will hear and deliver them. I pray for the lonely ones that are so low... That You Lord will lift them up. In the name of JESUS I pray, AMEN

I am writing a review today about a worship singer that I have only recently become familiar with in the past six months. My brother got me connected to a christian video group online

called tangle (great alternative to You tube).

and on this site one of the top viewed videos was of a girl named Kari Jobe. Hmmm... Never heard of her--let's give a listen I said and can I tell you I was so blessed by the song entitled REVELATION SONG. (see video below)

Needless to say I was so impressed that I purchased her self titled cd and was so blessed by all the songs.

Other tracks worth mentioning are:

Track Two - Healer, with it's powerful lyrics and message.

Track Seven - Singing over me, Kari sounds a bit Taylor Swiftish except her intimate lyrics are as one singing intimately to their love-Jesus Christ.

Track Eleven - Revelation Song, still my favorite of all. It's brings you to what it may truly be like when we come before the Mercy Seat. In all it's wonder and I can imagine bowing down singing her lyric "You are my everything and I will Adore you.." as I bow before my King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

So let's give God the glory... He is so due it. SO WHY NOT!??! Our focus can be so distracted at this time of year. Some are wrapped up in gift giving, others in gift receiving and yet even Christians can get wrapped up in things that are not what the season is all about. Perhaps we are too wrapped up in the right food for dinner, right clothes to wear to special church services or perhaps making sure our homes look just right? All these things are not wrong in themselves, but we need to remember who and why we celebrate Christmas.. for JESUS is the Reason for the Season!

I have been absent for awhile now. Primarily due to health issues. I was in the hospital for a week about a month ago, and have had one health issue after another since then.

But GOD IS FAITHFUL...

to give me strength, healing and peace!!

Strength to make it through work days when I have no energy to move.... Healing when my test came back negative (no cancer)PTL!!

and Peace to know that through it all I am never alone!!!

I am having a "have you ever moment"! I am wondering if anyone has ever ever felt this way? Have you felt like no one understands or perhaps cares about what I am going through? Am I alone in my "have you ever moment"?!? Honestly, I cannot believe that I am...

My HYE(have you ever) moment, has been mentioned in some of my blog pasts in the past. Being single, I tend to think that those around me do not understand my feelings, situation or whatever I am going through. Having never had a husband around to air my problems, I tend to share them with some family and to those whom I trust. Being the analytical person that I am, I wonder are they really getting me or just being polite in their understanding "uhhmms or yes I hear ya".

Visiting a new blogging friend's site ( http://rejoicinginhishope.blogspot.com/ ), there was a song playing and one of the lyrics was trust the Lord. How many times have I heard that from a dear saint in the Lord, a minister or from the word of God in my 30 something years on this earth? Too many times, obviously not enough times; for I am not TRUSTING in the Lord! Because when you are trusting Him, then you do not need to analyze His response to your frustrated thoughts and fears. Because He always has my best interest at His Heart, for He cares for me. Matthew 6 tells us how he cares for the birds in the air to feed them and how much more will he care for us. We should not give worry or fear for these for HE KNOWS and supplies. Thank you Lord for knowing our FEARS and supplying us with what we need.

My sister took this for me as I am known as the "Bird Lady" in my family and the seagulls are my babies. Each day I am getting closer to that old maid with her cats---say it aint so!! Truth be told my landlord doesn't allow cats! My sister and I took a boat trip on the thousand islands to a place called Boldt Castle. This was a sign posted at the dock when we reached the castle.

Why Go To Church?

A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and
complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. "I've gone for 30 years now," he wrote, "and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all."

This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column, much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:

"I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this.. They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today.

Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be
spiritually dead today!" When you are DOWN to nothing..... God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual nourishment!

I wish I could say that I wrote this, but alas I did not. A friend of mine forwarded this to me and it was powerful even in it's simplicity. For the last few years, I had struggled to find a church to call home and attended sporadically as I searched for churches to visit. I still was striving to live a christian life and believe I was still a christian, but I was not a Growing christian. I did not realize that I was stifling my walk with God. I was forsaking the fellowship of other believers (in a church fellowship). I have been faithfully attending a church now for about six months. I am finding that by my faithfulness to church, God is being faithful in his teaching and molding me into a stronger Christian (though I have so much more to learn).

As I am writing this the words of that song came to my head, "God is in Control." Look at this part of the song belong, it tells us why we believe that God is in control. Because we will not be forsaken or shaken and why is that? Because there is no power above, below , beside or in front of us that is more powerful than OUR GOD!

As I am recovering from an unknown illness and hospital stay, I am trying to focus on the notion that "I am not in control." All I need to do is keep pressing onward and looking upward to my controller-Jesus Christ.

I was a twittering tonight (my newest Internet addiction--I'm djdeb7) and came across some interesting blog posts I want to share and comment on.

The first is about Michael Jackson and how he became a christian a few weeks before his death.

I pray that it is true. As I was watching the television coverage this weekend, I was saddened to see how lost he really was. They had played back a comment he made about his life. It basically was saying that he wanted to leave his soul in his work for it to be there when he passes on. He ended it with saying something like Isn't' that what it's all about? to me an open ended statement.

Tricia Goyer's posted convicted me that I should be praying for a reconciliation for them. But instead I have been commenting on my opinion on the whole thing. It should have been the first thing I did, but how de-sensitised we become when we watch television.

PRAYER:

Dear Lord, I come before you now and pray that something good may come out of Michael Jackson's life. May others see that all the money, fame and fortune can not bring you peace or satisfaction. For the only peace-- true peace--lasting peace comes from Salvation in Christ!!

Lord I also pray for Jon and Kate that they will not only reconcile their relationship with each other but I pray for reconciliation with you Lord. Have your way in their hearts Lord I pray!

In the precious name of my Lord and Saviour JESUS, AMEN

Lately, it seems as if inspirational thoughts are always coming to mind. Now I don't know if it's because I need it (well I always need it) or it's truly inspiration. Today at work a thought came to me ZEN... Have you heard anyone say "That's so ZEN" or "it's a ZEN moment"? Or better yet we need to have ZEN in this room?

Well why not have a JEN moment? I mean when folks are seeking a "ZEN" moment, they are usually frustrated or in a confused place. So stop and remember JEN!!

Oh my, I have heard it before but it just hit me today and I had to look up the singer online and just share the awesome lyrics to "my new FAVORITE song". The song is called Empty Me and is song by Chris Sligh. (oh he sings great too... being a writer sometimes the lyrics hit me more)

Neglectful blogger!! That is I. Have not had the mind energy in the evening to do much the last few weeks. How's that for an excuse? So here's the latest version of djdeb's ramblings....

I was telling a friend the other day for the first time in a long time, I feel as if my relationship with the Lord is growing. It's been exciting! I have finally found a church where I am being ministered and have been getting into the word of God more faithfully.

So here I am going good with God and I hit a period of "doubt". I found myself lacking the confidence in myself and second guessing myself. Not one to blame Satan for things, as he gets too much credit already. But I noticed when this was happening, it had been precipitated by a few days where I did not get into the word much. Wait... is a coincidence?! I think not..

Oh God , May I daily feast on your Word and seek the nourishment and fulfillment that only it can bring. Fill me with verses that declare Your Power, Your Love and Your Hope. Help me be confident that I need nothing but You God to satisfy my needs and only You can calm my fears and dry my invisible tears. I love you Lord!!
