~Reason for the Season~

The first time I recall ever hearing this statement "REASON FOR THE SEASON" it was sung by a heavy metal group named STRYPER. Growing up with a brother that both played and sung Christian rock, I was enamored and loved this same style of music. Here below are the lyrics and if you are brave enough I will post a link to the song! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEcycix2voI

Verse 1: You, you say that you've got it figured out That life's about, you do what you want to.
You, you walk the tightrope of unbelief Can't you see? His way is reality.
We all know it's better to give that receive
Then why don't we give God the glory?
Don't hide it, don't fight it, just believe.
Chorus 1He is the reason for the season. He is the reason for today.
He is the reason for the season. Celebrate, celebrate.
Verse 2: You, your life can be a holiday Everyday when He is with you.
Hey, let's get back to what it's all about. Shout it out.
Christ is the reason.
We all know it's better to give that receive
His gift is for those who believe.
You got it if you want it, just believe.
Chorus 2He is the reason for the season. He is the reason for today.
He is the reason for the season. Celebrate.

I like the following part of the song above:
We all know it's better to give that receive
Then why don't we give God the glory?
So let's give God the glory... He is so due it. SO WHY NOT!??! Our focus can be so distracted at this time of year. Some are wrapped up in gift giving, others in gift receiving and yet even Christians can get wrapped up in things that are not what the season is all about. Perhaps we are too wrapped up in the right food for dinner, right clothes to wear to special church services or perhaps making sure our homes look just right? All these things are not wrong in themselves, but we need to remember who and why we celebrate Christmas.. for JESUS is the Reason for the Season!

MAY GOD BLESS YOU & YOURS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON & IN THE NEW YEAR, DEB
