Gospel Concert -- Bus Trip

About a week and a half ago, My sister and my friend Beck http://flyanywaybumblebee.blogspot.com/ attended a Gaither Homecoming Concert in PA. Being in New York State, there was a bus tour company that was offering tours to the concert. I have attended many of the Gaither's concerts but never gone on a bus tour to the event. We had a brand new bus that was very comfortable, but the highlight was the concert.

We were able to hear Janet Paschal, Lynda Randall, Ernie Hasse and Signature sound (http://erniesigsound.com/), The Hoppers and the Gaither Vocal Band. It was very neat that Mark Lowry, David Phelps and Michael English are back in the group. It was sad to see that Guy Penrod has left the group. I am wondering if Bill Gaither is heading for retirement by bringing these fellows back to the group. He hardly sang during the concert and there is good leadership with the previous members. hmmm...

In tribute to one of my all time favorite gospel singers who has passed away, I made hankies and posters in remembrance of Vestal Goodman. I grew up istening to her and was blessed to have seen her at many Gaither concerts. The hankies were from the fact that she always had these large, lacy hankies she waved around as she sang. Vestal was a lady who sang with all her heart and soul and whom the "love of the Lord radiated from her". Miss you Vestal and can not wait to join your heavenly chorus someday.

Here are my hankies just freshly made:

...no sewing involved!!

Here are the posters I made:

It was a great night of listening and singing with fellow believers. Kind of like a taste of heaven. I hope at some point to do a review of one of the Cd's I purchased of Ernie Hasse and Signature Sound (website above). I will end this post with a few pics of my sister and my friend Beck..

Thank you for stopping by my blog. I enjoyed reading about you road trip. Gotta love those Gaithers! Vestal Goodman was from a small Alabama town near my hometown. They named the main highway after her. Nice to meet you!
